Phase I Systemic Administration Trial - United Kingdom
In June 2007, Oncolytics announced that final results of the U.K. Phase I systemic administration trial were being presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois. The results demonstrated that REOLYSIN® was well tolerated by patients with several notable changes in stabilization of disease, as well as some minor tumor regression in patients who had failed all previous treatments. The primary objective of Oncolytics' first systemic administration study was to determine the safety of REOLYSIN® when administered intravenously. The secondary objective was to observe tumour and immune system response to intravenous infusion of REOLYSIN®, which will help to determine dosage levels in subsequent clinical studies. Patients who derived benefit from the therapy were able to be retreated at the same dosage at which they were initially treated. Patients with advanced stage, primary or metastatic solid tumours who had failed all other cancer therapies were enrolled at the Royal Marsden and St. George's Hospital in the United Kingdom
